Looking for good poetry. Bearing in mind that I was an English Major (which means I've read the big names like Whitman, Yeats, Dickinson, Eliot, etc) I am looking for some really good poems to chew on for a while. I'm not closed to any good poetry, but I would love to find at least a bit of the following:

- American contemporary
- Women
- Appalachian
- "Outsider"
- Queer

Some of my favorite poets are TS Eliot, Marilou Awiakta, Nikki Giovanni, WB Yeats, Whitman, Seamus Heaney, Ezra Pound (to name a few). I'll be honest, I can't stand Dickinson or most of the Romantics. Blech.

Suggestions? I don't care if they are well-known or your neighbor, as long as it's good and I can find it easily.

i am accused of tending to the past
Lucille Clifton

i am accused of tending to the past
as if i made it,
as if i sculpted it
with my own hands. i did not.
this past was waiting for me
when i came,
a monstrous unnamed baby,
and i with my mother's itch
took it to breast
and named it
History.
she is more human now,
learning languages everyday,
remembering faces, names and dates.
when she is strong enough to travel
on her own, beware, she will.
